Moya has over 20 years experience working as a free-lance lecturer. She is absolutely passionate about Jewellery History and Gemmology. She has given lectures at prestigious venues such as The British Museum, The National Portrait Gallery, The Tate Gallery, The Gemmological Association of Great Britain, The National Gallery of Ireland, The National College of Art & Design, University College Dublin, Dublin Institute of Technology and The Hugh Lane Municipal Gallery.

Moya is currently running courses in UCD Adult Education.

COURSES 2016/2017: 

18th Century Art and Design – UCD Life long learning (AE-AN174 )

This will be a fun and informative course that will introduce you to art, fashion and design in the 18th century. You will see how wealthy people in the 18th century used the arts as a means to express their aspirations, desires and status. We will evaluate the importance of the arts in securing this status in a new consumer society. You will reflect on how their choices from the home they lived in, the clothes and jewellery they wore, to cup they drank from expressed 18th century values and politics. There will be private tours as part of this course.

An Introduction to Jewellery Appreciation – UCD Life long learning (AE-AN175)

This will be a fun and informative course giving practical and historical information across antique and modern jewellery.  You will learn how precious gemstones are mined and manufactured. We will see famous jewellery, worn by royalty and Hollywood stars and discover the stories behind them.  There will be a private viewing of jewellery as part of this course.
